SUMMARY:From Hurting to Healing - Book
DESCRIPTION:Kinder workplaces \nWe’re working with Dr Simon Craig to bring you his book about organisational change called –\nFrom Hurting to Healing – Delivering Love to Medicine and Healthcare. \n\nA great book for people who want to take a much closer look at how workplaces can change from feeling toxic to being more of a tonic in people’s lives. Simon worked as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Australia before specialising in improving team dynamics\, workplace\, and organisational cultures. \nThe book is easy to read and takes readers through a process of looking more closely at workplace practices to identify where opportunities for change exist. It outlines a generic model\, so its takeaway messages are suitable for anyone in any workplace where working with people for positive change is important.  \nParticipants in our Better Health Workplaces workshops can purchase the book for $28.75 plus postage (if required).\nNon-participants can purchase it for $34.50 plus postage (if required).

SUMMARY:Youth Hub Workshop: Clinical
DESCRIPTION:Be part of a collective of local stakeholders committed to improving the wellbeing of rangatahi in the Wairarapa. \nCurrently\, many of our young people face fragmented journeys when seeking health and wellbeing support. We are also mindful that there are lots of providers doing amazing mahi in this space\, but we are not as well connected as we could be. This means that in our current financial climate with restricted funding\, some of us may be competing for the same limited funding pool\, or duplicating services that could be more streamlined.\nKeeping the young person and their whanau front of mind and central to our work\, we are exploring the concept of a Wairarapa-specific Youth Hub or One Stop Shop\, designed to provide integrated\, youth friendly clinical and social/wellbeing care. \nWe recognise that your expertise is essential in designing a model that is clinically safe\, sustainable and effective. We invite you to a targeted Clinical Integration Workshop to explore: \n\nCollaborative practice: How can we do better\, co-locate or integrate services to reduce wait times. Make best use of warm handovers\, that we know are so much more effective for rangatahi\, and reduce wasted resources?\nShared resources: what would shared clinical governance and infrastructure look like in the Wairarapa context?\nGap identification: what are the specific barriers your service faces in reaching and engaging with youth? How can we address these as a collective?
